Forest Guard
We are proud to introduce Forest Guard, a cutting-edge IoT sensor system designed to address critical environmental challenges, including illegal logging, unauthorized transportation, and wildfire detection. The system operates by detecting specific sounds—such as saw noises and transport activities—as well as monitoring heat increases. Upon identifying any suspicious activity, Forest Guard immediately triggers an emergency signal.
Forest Guard also offers enhanced flexibility, with optional features such as humidity measurement. The system provides significant advantages, including:
– Energy Efficiency: The sensors are powered by long-lasting, replaceable batteries that last between 4 to 6 years, significantly reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.
– Comprehensive Coverage: A maximum of 25 sensors is required to cover a 1 km² area. Each sensor boasts a wide visibility range, with a minimum radius of 150 meters in challenging terrain and up to 1 km in flat terrain.
The primary mission of Forest Guard is to tackle global challenges such as energy conservation and the preservation of natural ecosystems. By doing so, the system directly contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically:
Goal 7: Clean and Affordable Energy
Goal 13: Climate Action
Goal 15: Life on Land
With an urgent deadline to reach the 17 SDGs by 2030, we recognize the critical need for immediate action. Forest Guard is not just an innovation; it is a step forward in global sustainability efforts. Our project has successfully completed a pilot program in Stepanavan’s forest, covering a 1 km² area, and is an alumni of the Impact Aim Venture Accelerator, GIST Business Incubation, and Draper University.
Forest Guard represents a unique solution for both protecting our environment and saving energy, providing a scalable and sustainable way to monitor vast areas in real time.
